Pastor Eugene Cowan II
Senior Servant Leader
Eugene Cowan II was born August 7, 1970 in Detroit, MI. He is the only son born to Eugene Cowan Sr. and Gloria J. Johnson. He is married to former Shramia Marion of Muskegon, MI and they have one daughter Janiya Marion. He received his Diploma in Urban Ministry from Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit. He received his BS in Management with a special emphasis in Ministerial Leadership from Cornerstone University. He has received his Masters of Divinity at Central Baptist Theological Seminary. Pastor Cowan served in the Armed Forces of the United States as a US Marine. During his four years of military service, he served as Platoon Laymen and Assistant to the Battalion Chaplain.. He was an Airborne Reconnaissance Marine and received awards, commendations, and an Honorable Discharge for his service to our country. He also served as a police officer for the City of Detroit for five year and tow of those Executive Protection Officer for the Mayor.
At age 17, Pastor Cowan responded to God’s call upon his life to enter the ministry. He has ministered as an Associate minister to the following churches: Straight Street Baptist Church (Detroit, MI), Community Pilgrim Baptist Church (Detroit, MI), and Mt. Olive Baptist Church (Okinawa, Japan) while in the military, Youth Pastor at the 12th Street Missionary Baptist Church (Detroit, MI) and Senior Pastor for 10 years at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church (Muskegon Heights, MI). He currently serves the Lord as the Senior Pastor of Jeremiah Missionary Baptist Church in Milwaukee, WI. He also serves as an Chaplain for Horizon Healthcare and Hospice in the Milwaukee area.
Pastor Cowan has been involved in ministering for over 30 years and has been a Senior Pastor for the past 17 years. He has conducted revivals, workshops, and lectures on the challenges of inner city youth and how to ministering to a changing American culture. He is passionate about the salvation unbelievers and transformative living for believers glorifying God and his Kingdom.
He loves to teach and preach the Word of God. His purpose and mission in life is to be an anointed vessel used by God for his service and to do effective and purposeful ministry for the Kingdom of God by preparing God’s people for the work ministry. His mantra is “Preach the Word, Love the People! His scriptural foundation is located in the words of our Savior Jesus Christ as recorded by Luke.
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
His favorite quote says, “It is better to have Jesus and not need him, than to need Jesus and not have him.”
